FEMS MICRO 2025 welcomes all scientists and researchers in microbiology fields, of any professional career stages. This event is open to anyone looking to engage with a diverse microbiology community, such as students and early career researchers, industry professionals, academic researchers and policy makers. Please note that different  registration fees apply, depending on the registration category.

The programme for FEMS MICRO 2025 will be in English, as this is the official language of the Congress & Exhibition.

The registration fee for FEMS MICRO 2025 includes the following: 

• Access to all Sessions, Keynotes, Flash Talks, and Poster Displays 

• Access to the Exhibition 

• Free use of the FEMS MICRO 2025 mobile event app 

• Coffee and lunch (Tuesday – Thursday) 

• Complimentary refreshments at the Poster Networking Receptions on Tuesday and Wednesday

The application deadlines for conference grants and other support are now closed. At this time, there is no additional funding available. All applicants who have applied in time have received a notification email of the outcome of their application.  

As a speaker, you must register via the online registration form, via the registration link shared with you.  

There are several presentation types in the programme based on abstracts: 

• Session Talk speakers – you will give a 10-minute presentation, followed by a Q&A session as part of a symposium together with other speakers on similar topics. 

• Short Talk speakers – you will give a 5-minute presentation as part of a symposium, together with other Short Talk speakers and Session Talk speakers who will present on similar topics. In addition, you are also allocated a Poster Display. 

• Flash Talk speakers – you will present your research within 5 minutes on the theatre stage in the Exhibition hall. In addition, you are also allocated a Poster Display. 

• Poster Display – you will present your research in the format of a poster. All poster presenters are allocated to one day in the programme. 

FEMS MICRO 2025 takes place from 14-17 July 2025. The programme includes keynote speakers, different session types and networking opportunities. You can find the programme at a glace on this page of our website, including the exhibition opening hours.

FEMS will not publish the proceedings of FEMS MICRO 2025 in an indexed journal, nor in the Web of Science. The abstracts will be published in a digital abstract book, shared with all attendees once the event is over. 

The programme for FEMS MICRO 2025 includes several social networking events. The Welcome Reception takes place on 14 July, and daily networking receptions at the Exhibition from Tuesday to Thursday. You will receive an automated confirmation email after registration. Please note that your place is only guaranteed once full payment is received.

• Early bird fee – deadline of payment: 23 April 2025 (23:59 CEST) 

• Regular fee – deadline of payment: 6 June 2025 (23:59 CEST)

Yes, name changes are permitted as long as the new presenter is a co-author already listed during the abstract submission.

If you have selected the wrong registration category, please contact us at fems@parthen.nl. Depending on the correct registration category applicable, you will be required to pay the difference between the incorrect lower fee and the Fee for your correct registration type before your place at the Congress is guaranteed.

All cancellation requests must be done in writing at fems@parthen.nl.  

The following cancellation fees apply. If you cancel: 

• On or before 14 May 2025 (23:59 CEST): 100% refund 

• From 15 May to 13 June 2025 (23:59 CET): 50% refund 

• From 14 June 2025 to Congress start date: No refund 

Any refunds due, will be processed within 30 days. Refunds will be made via the same payment method as used for the registration payment. For further details about the applicable cancellation policy, please check this page of our website.
