call for Session Proposals now open

At FEMS MICRO Ljubljana 2027, we are bringing together microbiologists, innovators, and policy-makers from across Europe and beyond under the theme Growing Microbial Futures to shape what comes next in microbiology. Our diverse topic tracks, Eco Innovations, Health Horizons, Biotechnology and Engagement & Growth, are designed to foster thought-provoking discussions and harness innovative solutions.

The FEMS MICRO programme will feature a wide range of session types, including interactive sessions, poster displays, flash talks, and session talks, all showcasing research from our abstract and session proposal submitters. Beyond traditional presentations, we are also curating an interdisciplinary programme of community-focused sessions, from meet-ups and fireside chats in the community corner to engaging debates on important topics.

We look forward to receiving your session proposals and abstracts, and to building an inspiring and engaging congress together.

Submission Types

Share your research as a hard-copy poster on your allotted day, and be available to discuss your work with attendees.

Poster Display

Present your research in a dedicated 5-minute pitch session, accompanied by a hard-copy poster. These presentations will be held in the exhibition hall, located at the centre of the congress.

Flash Talk

Deliver a 10-minute presentation followed by a Q&A. Session talks are grouped by similar topics, with up to four speakers per 60-minute symposium.

Session Talk

These 60-minute sessions are ideal for exploring complex topics in a more dynamic and participatory format. Submit your fully developed session proposal, complete with speaker list.
