Message from the editor
Forthcoming title change: Pathogens and Disease becomes FEMS Infectious Diseases in 2026
“It was important to me that this journal was very clear that it was part of the FEMS family: an international journal with its genesis and roots in Europe, and most importantly, a not-for-profit journal that is run by scientists and for scientists. I also wanted to encapsulate the scope more clearly in its title.”
Gadi Frankel, current co-Editor-in-Chief of Pathogens and Disease, on his drive to change the journal title as he takes up sole Editor-in-Chiefship from January 2026
