Review Process: Upon submission, the Editors-in-Chief assess manuscripts for language, scope, and quality. A Fellow of the European Academy for Microbiology (EAM) is then invited to serve as Handling Editor. Authors may request the exclusion of up to three EAM Fellows. The Handling Editor obtains two expert reviews—one may be their own—and may invite a third if the study spans multiple disciplines.
